Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, Salam Sejahtera and Salam Manjungku Makmur, Bandar Tourism and Maritime.

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Allah SWT because with His kudrat, iradat and inayah, we are able to weather the year 2020 smoothly and successfully and granted permission to step into 2021.

In 2020, we are faced with new challenges as the world faces a crisis following the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.  This scenario resulted in changes in the administrative system of the MPM such as the closure of office operations, the implementation of Work From Home (WFH), focusing on the work movement to curb the Covid-19 pandemic by members of the MPM's frontline and changes in work culture with the implementation of new norms including various online dealings.

However, this huge challenge does not affect the MPM's governance system especially the delivery of services to the community but instead gives an injection of enthusiasm for every employee to practice the principles of accuracy (precision) in various aspects especially time management, speed (sense of urgency)  and time limit (timeline) to complete work, more sensitive to the changes in the surroundings, willing to accept changes and willing to transform in terms of thinking, attitude and quality of work.

This principle has brought MPM to greater heights when it achieved numerous successes in the aspect of quality management. The most proud success was upon receiving recognition as the National Level Best Local Authority in the Local Authority Star Rating System (SPB-PBT).  In addition, MPM has won Third Place in The Clean Public Toilet Recognition Competition for the Category of Public Stops and National Level House of Worship, Five Star Gold Award and Four Stars in the National Team Excellence, Annual Productivity & Innovation and Exposition (APIC) for the EZ Sanitizer and Sand Sieve Machine Manual projects, runner-up of the Perak State Level National Day Cheer competition 2020 for the Gate Category and obtained the ISO 45001 : 2018 Occupational Safety and Health System Certification.

Hence, the management of MPM expressed its highest appreciation to the Perak State Government for providing opportunities, advisory and support services as well as government and private agencies, non-governmental organizations, community leaders and the whole community in the municipality of Manjung.

Last but not least, I wish you a Happy New Year 2021 and hope all the planning can be implemented successfully, MPM is more competitive and achieves more excellent achievements and Manjung municipal community continues to live in an abundance of harmony and well- being.

Thank you.
