DO YOU?
Every day we are produce 15,000 ton of garbage but we getting smaller the space to cover them
for produce 1 ton of paper requires 17 stems of palm trees not less than 10 years old.
The government spent an average of RM 130.00 for disposing of 1 ton of rubbish. (RM 130.00 X 15,000 tonnes = RM 1,950,000.00 per day).
Malaysia imports more than 25,000 tonnes with a cost of RM 4 million used papers from outside country every month.
By recycling aluminum cans, we will save enough energy to turn on the television for 3 hours.
By recycling one glass bottle, we can save 100 watts to light bulbs for 4 hours.
Recycled paper can reduce 4380 tonnes of waste per day. This amount corresponds to the 78,000 stems required to make a paper. Imagine how we can safeguard our forests by practicing recycling.
Programs & Activity
WHY RUBBER?
- Recycle to preserve our living space. Currently there are about 3 garbage disposal sites in Manjung district. Once a landfill is filled with rubbish, a new site will be opened. Eventually, these sites will grow and spread inflammation of our living space.
- Recycle for a healthier and cleaner environment.
- Garbage can affect health and safety. If left untreated, it will be the focus of disease carrier animals such as rats and crows. Through recycling, we can reduce the dumped waste and further control the disease from spreading.
- Dumping waste in trash, lorry or garbage disposal is one of the sources of pollution in tropical climate.
- Recycling practices can reduce environmental threats such as groundwater and air pollution.
Recycle to save on costs
In the long run, recycling is more economical than maintaining landfills or other systems. When recycling programs are efficient, the waste that needs to be removed will be reduced. This will take advantage of you as the charges for garbage disposal will be reduced.
Recycle to save our resources
Many do not realize that we are actually removing valuable resources. Did you know that Malaysia imports more than 25,000 tonnes of waste paper per month to produce paper products to meet local demand? We also import other materials for other manufacturing industries.
